Ignore my qualms. This is a great bargain. It is clear to me that when it comes to this collection, content went before design, but that's completely fine. After all, these are virtually the complete works of one of the greatest Puritan theologians. The text is accurate and does not appear to have been OCR'd. When you consider that this is a hundred times cheaper than the print editions, you understand what a great collection it is.

Thanks Adam. Would love to have the Hebrews commentary too. Have you come across it properly formated anywhere?
ReplyDeleteHey Adam, I bought it and I even used your referral code, so you can enjoy a stick of gum or something because of me!
ReplyDeleteBrandon, closest I've come is finding it on Puritan Library. As I've been investigating some, I've noticed that the epubs that you can download off of Google Books are now 10x better than they were a year ago. The OCR is way better and they are now coming with a functioning TOC. I've been having some problems with Calibre when I convert them to .mobi, as it seems the conversion removes some of the first chapter. This only happens sporadically, but it is still pretty frustrating.
I'm not sure where archive.org get's their mobi files, but in the past they have been pretty shoddy. It's possible that they have improved as well.
Best bet would be to try and find the Hebrews commentary on google books and see how good the epub is.
The problem with the Hebrews commentary is that there is a lot of Greek. Whoever converts it to Kindle deserves an ovation because they'll have to go through the text and change all of the Greek into unicode Greek or else transliterate all of it. Considering how many volumes that commentary is that's no easy task.
ReplyDeleteSeems this JO Ultimate Collection volume was taking down, by the way.. =/
