The Campaign Begins
Posted by
Josh Walker
I want to let the readers of Bring the Books know that today is the official start date of the "get Adam a new bike" campaign. I have selected a reasonably priced, manly, suitable replacement (this bike can be vetoed by Adam). The cost of the bike is pretty low and since it is at a Wal-Mart, we can have it shipped to a store near him, for free. If you would like to donate to this fund, please email me at johnny.redeemed@gmail.com, sorry this is not a tax write off (I have no idea how to do that). I would like to be the first to pledge $10 to this campaign. We will keep the readers posted on the progress of the fund.

To everyone,
ReplyDeleteRead the Augustine quote on the left side of the blog. That is what we are all about here at Bring the Books.
First of all, let me say that I'm thrilled that Walker would think of doing this; it was not my idea at all. But I would like to chime in with three little thoughts:
ReplyDeletea) This bicycle would help our economy by keeping me away from the gas pumps (thereby decreasing demand for fuel, and thereby decreasing the cost of each gallon of gas by 0.0000000000000000000123 cents for the rest of you). This donation will therefore pay for itself in approximately 350 years.
b) Please choose a girlier bike. It just doesn't feel the same without tassels, streamers, and a basket on the front with flowers on it.
c) Ignore point B. That was just a joke.
If I am going to contribute, I want to get the most bang for my buck, so I would prefer a more efficient model.
ReplyDeleteLet me know once you apply for Fiscal Sponsorship to get a tax ID for the project. I don't want to forgo a chance to stick it to the man.
Brandon,
ReplyDeleteI have not received and email with you pledge yet. The email must have been lost in the mail.
This is going to happen!
ReplyDeleteMoney Bomb! It worked for Ron Paul...financially speaking.
ReplyDeleteJonny,
ReplyDeleteDoes that mean I can put you down for $20???
Okay, so maybe this is not going to happen.
